PBTC NEWSLETTER

    May 2018

 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hi PBTC Members!

I hope you’re doing great and gearing up for the French Open. I have a few updates for you following our Board of Directors meeting that was held on May 21, 2018.

First, hearing no objections from any club members following our previous request for comments, the Board has approved giving Steve Adamson a 3-year extension on his current club manager contract. The current 3-year contract concludes on December 31 of this year, and the extension would be for the 2019-2021 calendar years.  Our treasurer, Scott Karafin, and Steve will be reviewing the contract for any minor changes that might be appropriate.

Second, we’re in the process of getting the final approvals in place for resurfacing Court 4 and I’m hopeful everything will be in order within the next week or two. We’ll keep you posted on the schedule as we know more.

Third, while the current flex leagues are on-going for the M4.0 and O4.5 divisions, the Board has approved a new league starting July 1 and going through September 15. We will be opening up the M3.5 and W3.5 divisions as well, and what’s more, for the summer league, the winner in each division will be able to receive a lesson from the club tennis pro of their choice at 50% off! We’ll have that league open for entries once our current league closes on June 15.

But wait there’s more. The Powell Blankenship Junior Tournament is this weekend. There will be 2 courts available for club members and public to use during the tournament on Saturday. On Sunday, 2 courts will be available only until 1pm. From 1pm to 7pm there will be no courts available.

Coming back to the French Open, mark your calendar for June 1, when we’re having our French Open mixer starting at 6:30p. You can sign up online at pbtennis.com. In the meantime, if there’s anything we can do to make the club better for you please feel free to contact me directly, or any of the other board members. Our next BOD meeting is scheduled for June 11, 6:15p at the clubhouse.

See you at the courts!
