October 2017

Hi PBTC Members,

Following our Board meeting on October 9, we have just a few updates for you that I'd like to highlight. Our new teaching professional, Uros Petrojenivic, is off to a great start running 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+ clinics during the week, and is available for private lessons as well. You'll see more information inside this edition of the newsletter.  The Turkey Tournament is coming on Nov. 11-12 and if you'd like to have a late entry, please contact Steve Adamson (steve@pbtennis.com) to see about available spots. We're expecting to have Court 2 resurfaced ahead of the Turkey Tournament.  Our Annual Meeting will also be held in conjunction with the Turkey Tournament on Nov. 11. In addition, the Board also approved a contractor to replace currently faulty lights and we hope to have this completed in the next two weeks.

There's more information to update you on with regard to the De Anza Cove Revitalization project as well, which you'll read about in the newsletter.

Finally, please note that elections for the 2018-2019 Board of Directors are coming and if you'd like to be part of the board, please let our club secretary Bob Miller know by end of today, October 15 (rmm@robertmillerlaw.com).

David Fogel
2017 PBTC President

Deadline is today to submit your name

The next election cycle for the Board of Directors of the Pacific Beach Tennis Club will be held this Fall. Three of the seven positions on the Board are up for election, including the seats currently held by Cliff Robbins, Scott Karafin and Dale Jensen.

All eligible members who want to be considered should email their names to me by October 15. My email address is: rmm@robertmillerlaw.com . In the event that an insufficient number of eligible candidates are recorded by October 15, the Board shall endeavor to determine a sufficient number of eligible candidates prior to the November Board Meeting.

Hi PBTC Members,

Mark your calendars on Tuesday November 7, when two refined draft alternatives of the De Anza Revitalization Plan will be presented at a public meeting of the Mission Bay Park Committee.  The time and location will be announced at http://www.deanzarevitalizationplan.com/news, and likely this will be on 6 pm at the Mission Bay High School auditorium.  I will be there to take notes, and I will also voice our concerns with draft alternatives as well as our vision for a great new tennis and Pickleball facility with a clubhouse and restrooms.  Please contact me with questions or comments.
